We had an amazing time at the Cricket Skills Challenge!
Everyone had lots of fun and we all came back with big smiles on our faces.
St. Luke’s come in 5th out of 12 positions!
All kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves learning different skills to put into their future cricket games and competitions.
They learnt skills such as: throwing, catching, batting, working on their agility, balance and co-ordination. And we scored points from each section!
A special shout out to Muhammad and Hasib for putting great effort into their batting and scoring the most runs out of the whole competition with 24 runs each!
Well done boys, and well done to everyone that took part.

TAG RUGBY AT BISHAM ABBEY MARCH 2017
We arrived at school nice and early before any other children. Both Miss Jane and Mr Browne took us in their cars to Bisham Abbey, where the competition was held.
On arrival to the Games, we were presented with our team tops which had "Ascot and Maidenhead" on the back to show which part of Berkshire we were representing.
During the morning we played 5 matches against different schools from 5 different areas of Berkshire (Slough, Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell Forest and Windsor) in these games we worked as a team, encouraging each other and most importantly we all had massive smiles on our faces because it was just so amazing - even though it was really windy and we were playing in torrential rain.
We won 3 games, drew 1 and sadly lost 1 to a great Reading team.
After our competition we had the chance to play some different sports such as archery, dirt bike racing and some teamwork games.
Overall this experience was fantastic and hopefully if we can, we could go again and represent "Ascot and Maidenhead" in more events.

The Netball competition at Furze Platt was really fun! St. Luke's got to compete with lots of different schools. We scored lots of goals and did lots of running. We just couldn't stop!
We came first against Furze Platt Junior and we all had smiles on our faces.
The teachers were really proud!

HOCKEY MATCH AT FURZE PLATT NOVEMBER 2016
On Tuesday 15th November me and a group of selected children went to the Maidenhead Rugby Club to participate in a Tag Rugby contest. When we got there, we put our stuff down and split into 2 teams; St Luke’s team A and B.
We warmed up and started our first game. We played Oldfield school girls team and won 4-3!
The B team played amazingly but unfortunately lost.
Our second game was played with Furze Platt school. They were very clever. We fought a hard battle but lost 5-3. Me and Shawn terrorised their defence!
We had a little break and Mr Browne gave us a pep talk.
Our third game was played with St Edmund where we lost 3-2. I spun 2 player to get the try. Thankfully we played St Luke’s B team where we all just went home and had a conversation with our parents.
It was very fun!

NETBALL AT CLAIRES COURT OCTOBER 2016
I went to Netball Competition with Sana, Balraj, Izzy, Thomas and Cherise. Towards the end of the school day we were all very nervous about the fact that we were visiting girls from Claires Court School who played netball every day.
We had only played a few times. This was my first time playing so I was very confused when a girl was following me throughout the whole game! But some of us also went to the competition last year.
Although we didn't get any goals we still took part and had fun!

TAG RUGBY AT BRAYWICK OCTOBER 2016
Tuesday 5th October saw some of our fabulous Year 3 and 4 children taking part in the annual Tag Rugby festival at the local rugby club at Braywick.
On one of the sunniest days in October so far we had the opportunity to show our sportsmanship against lots of other schools in the area. We were fortunate enough to be able to take 2 amazing teams with us.
Following our walk to the event we had a short period of time before our first game. It took us a little while to warm up but by the end of the whole event we were showing just how determined we all are at St. Luke's to try our hardest.
We may not have come away with a medal around our necks however, in the words of Alex P from Stingrays, 'we have had an amazing time and lots of fun'

In the real matches we were amazing in all positions, defending, passing and shooting. Unfortunately we lost the first match 4-0 but in the second half we made a huge improvement. The other team did very well pushing and forcing us back. They had talented players that scored.
The next game we improved massively only letting in two goals and we scored! At the end of the game the score was 2-1.
The man of the match was Kacper who scored an amazing goal. We loved it and had a great experience!
