We have had a very exciting week in Reception and the children have really enjoyed showing us their homework. This week in Literacy we have been learning about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole, we explored the important roles they both had in improving hospital care and nursing the soldiers during the war. We also discussed how Mary Seacole was treated differently to Florence Nightingale because of the colour of her skin, the children were very grown up during these discussions and everyone agreed that we are different and that’s what makes us special.
In Maths we have been practising our formation of numbers to 10 using different materials such as buttons, pom-poms and small wooden objects.
