School Lunches

Dear St. Luke's Families,

I am writing to update you on our current catering position. As most of you will be aware, last October, our Catering providers left at short notice and whilst we looked at options, we outsourced our lunches to an external provider based at Cox Green Secondary School.
We had planned to offer hot meals from January 2021 but unfortunately all schools closed and we were unable to do that.
During the January closure, we reviewed our options and decided to take the time to renovate the existing kitchen so that we could bring catering back in-house. Unfortunately, due to ongoing Coronavirus restrictions this has taken much longer than planned but after a delayed start, we are now renovating our kitchen and replacing equipment etc.
We are currently looking to recruit our own Cook, in line with restrictions being lifted late June 2021, so that we can look at reintroducing hot meals and in-house catering.
Historically, take up of hot meals has been very low in the summer months but we will hopefully look to bring back a hot meal on Fridays, as a start, sometime in June 2021.
Our in-house catering will offer a hot serve from September 2021, we apologise for any inconvenience this has caused families, but due to a number of unforeseen factors escarbated by Covid -19 and ongoing bubble restrictions, we have not been able to offer this service.
Thank you for your patience.
Kind regards

Amanda Butler
