Barriers that can be faced by eligible pupils
The main barriers that can be faced by eligible pupils are:
- Limited vocabulary, poor verbal skills and early language development
- Limited reading experiences, poor phonological awareness and reading fluency
- Limited life experiences leading to poor general knowledge
- Low ambition and aspiration
- Low self-esteem, mental health and emotional well-being
We can subsidise uniform and provide free winter uniform to children in need. We have also supported with Bed Poverty.
