Closing the school due to severe weather
If extreme weather occurs overnight or is forecast for the following day then the Head Teacher will take all measures necessary to close the school before the start of the day.
The following will take place:
- The Headteacher will:
- Post it on the school website
- Send an email to all parents
- Alert local radio – Heart Fm and BBC Berkshire
However if the weather worsens and/or begins and it is deemed necessary to close during the school day then the following will take place:
- The Headteacher will:
- Post it on the school website
- Send an email to all parents
- Alert local radio – Heart Fm and BBC Berkshire
- The school office will begin to ring parents to ask for their children to be collected immediately.
- Normal procedures apply for releasing the children. Children may be collected by friends and other family members if we have consent – this can be verbally on the phone or in writing
- Parents will collect as per normal – from the classrooms or gate by EYFS and KS1
Re-opening the School
When the school is ready to be reopened, the following will take place:
- The Headteacher will:
- Post it on the school website
- Send an email to all parents
- Alert local radio – Heart Fm and BBC Berkshire
